Arctic Institute of North America, an organization that promotes scientific exploration and research in the polar areas. The institute awards grants for scientific fieldwork in the Arctic or subarctic areas of the world. The institute was founded in 1945 and has some 2,500 members. Headquarters are in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
