Conservatory, a glass-enclosed room or building where plants, usually of rare or exotic varieties, are grown and displayed. Its temperature can be carefully controlled to provide the right atmosphere for the plants. A conservatory differs from other kinds of greenhouses in being used primarily to house or display plants rather than to raise them for commercial purposes.
