Gromwell, or Poccoon, an annual or perennial herb of the north temperate zone. There are about 10 species in North America. Gromwells grow from one to two feet (30–60 cm) high. The gray-green branching stems bear rough, lance-shaped stemless leaves. The white or yellowish funnel-shaped flowers grow in clusters.

The common gromwell is Lithospermum officinale, of the borage family, Boraginaceae.
