Lunaria, a group of plants related to the cabbage. Two European species are grown in gardens and have become naturalized in North America. Both are grown for the parchment-like central divisions of their seed pods, which are used in winter bouquets. Honesty (also called moonwort, satin flower, and silver dollar) is an annual that grows two to four feet (60 to 120 cm) tall. Its oblong pods grow as long as two inches (5 cm). Perennial honesty produces oval pods from two to three inches (5 to 7.5 cm) long.

Lunaria is a genus of the mustard family. Honesty is L. annua; perennial, L. rediviva.
